Cruise port hotels in Miami: which ones publish the parking term and the port shuttle

The verdict

1. The Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Airport South/Blue Lagoon is the pick, because it is the only hotel in this set that publishes the whole parking term — how many nights are covered, that extra days are billed, and exactly who the shuttle seat covers. Price it against your sailing dates and compare Miami hotel rates for the night before you board.
2. Sonesta Miami Airport is the pick if you want the shuttle time in writing. It publishes a per-person fare and two fixed pickup times — the detail almost no park-and-cruise page prints.
3. Comfort Suites Miami Airport North is the pick for a one-way out. Its shuttle to the port is free; the return leg is not, and the page says so plainly instead of letting you find out at the pier.

The number every package is competing against

PortMiami publishes its own rates, and they are not one number. Read on 22 September 2026, the Canaveral Port Authority's Miami counterpart lists:

• Garages C, D, F, G and Surface Lot E: short term "per vehicle, per space, per day (no overnight) or fraction of $10"; long-term "(overnight or greater), per vehicle, per space, per day or a fraction of $25."
• Garage AA: "Short term, per vehicle, per space, $20 per day (no overnight)" and "Long-term (overnight or greater), per vehicle, per space, $35 per day."
• Garage B (Norwegian Cruise Line): "Effective January 1, 2025, the parking rate will be $35 per vehicle, per space, per day."
• Oversized vehicles go to Surface Lot E, an open lot with no overhead clearance that "Accommodates oversized vans, recreational vehicles and vehicles with trailers" at "$25 per space, per day. If two spaces are utilized, $50 per day."

So your terminal sets your rate, and the gap is real: a week in Garage AA at $35 is a very different number from the same week at $25 in Garage C. Which garage you get is not a choice — the port publishes the pairing, and Terminals F, G and V all funnel into Garage G.

Three more published details worth carrying:

• Payment: "Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or any major U.S. Traveler's Check. Debit cards are not accepted."
• Lost ticket: billed as an eleven-day cruise, "for a maximum of $275."
• The port shuttle exists but is conditional: "Free shuttle service is available only on cruise days."

What PortMiami does not publish is whether your arrival and departure days both count. Port Canaveral states that its rate "includes the day of arrival and the day of departure" — the spine of our Port Canaveral park-and-cruise comparison. PortMiami's page says only that a partial day bills as a full one. Assume both travel days are billable until the booth says otherwise.

We restricted this shortlist to hotels whose own websites publish a parking or shuttle term we could quote. That rules out most properties ranking for this search, and that is the point.

1. Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Airport South/Blue Lagoon

This is the only property here that puts the full term, including the catch, in one paragraph, as of September 2026. Its Park, Snooze & Cruise package "Includes 7 days of long term parking (one vehicle per room reserved), ADDITIONAL DAYS after the 7 days will be charged an additional parking fee per day. Includes ONE way shuttle for TWO guests to the Port of Miami, additional guests pay an additional fare per person."

Read that twice before booking a longer sailing. Seven days is the allowance; an eight-night cruise is billable. One vehicle per room; one direction of shuttle; two seats.

Its specials page publishes a reverse version for people flying home after the cruise — "Our Reverse Park and Stay package includes up to 10 days of long term parking, one vehicle per room, prior to arrival" — and this time the overage rule is named: "additional days over 10 charged regular rate per day for parking." Outside a package, the hotel states the on-site garage is a "Gated Parking Garage (charges apply)", and the conditions block caps you at two rooms.

What it does not publish is the dollar figure for that per-day overage. Ask for the number in writing when you book.

2. Hampton Inn Coconut Grove/Coral Gables

A different Hampton franchise, a cleaner allowance, a less specific shuttle, read September 2026. Its Stay & Cruise package publishes "7-days of complimentary parking for one car per room" and "Complimentary one-way transportation for up to two-guests TO Port of Miami. Additional guests pay extra."

The capitalised "TO" is doing real work — like the Blue Lagoon property, this is a one-way transfer, not a round trip. The conditions add that early check-in and late check-out are availability-only and that you may confirm a maximum of two rooms.

Pick this one over Blue Lagoon if you would rather be in Coconut Grove than beside the airport. Pick Blue Lagoon if you want the overage rule spelled out.

3. Comfort Suites Miami Airport North

The shuttle economics here are the reverse of a package hotel's, and the page is refreshingly direct about it: "The shuttle going to the Port of Miami is complimentary to all our guests, but the return shuttle from the Port is not. You can arrange for a pickup at a charge of $10 per adult and $5 per child, at the hotel, before leaving for your cruise with the same company that will bring you there."

That last clause is the operational detail: book the return before you sail, at the hotel, or you are buying a taxi at the pier. The page also states that "Early times are available on a first-come, first-serve basis" and that you sign up at the front desk on arrival.

No parking allowance is published on this page. If your car is staying in Miami, price a port garage at the published rate and treat the hotel as a bed plus a free ride out — the same arithmetic we run in whether a park-sleep-fly package is worth it before an early departure.

4. Sonesta Miami Airport

Sonesta is the only hotel in this set that publishes both a shuttle time and a self-parking rate on its own page, as of September 2026.

The cruise-port shuttle block lists a "Pick up time" of "09:00AM & 11:00AM" at "$17 per person", with "Luggage assistance included" and the instruction to be in the lobby fifteen minutes early. Self-parking is published as a flat charge: "Take advantage of our convenient Miami airport hotel parking for a $23 fee per night (+tax)," repeated in the hotel's FAQ as "$23 per night."

Two cautions. That $23 is the hotel's standard nightly self-parking charge, not a discounted cruise-week rate — at seven nights it is above the port's own $25 long-term tier only marginally, and above nothing at all if your terminal is Garage AA. And the same page publishes a $50 incidental deposit at check-in plus a $75 per-stay pet fee, so read the charge summary before you compare totals.

How to price this in ten minutes

1. Find your terminal first. It determines your garage and therefore your rate: $25 a day at C, D, F, G and Lot E, $35 at AA and at Garage B.
2. Count both travel days as billable until the port tells you otherwise.
3. Check the direction of the shuttle. Three of the four hotels above publish a one-way transfer.
4. Count the seats. Two is the default; extra passengers pay per person at every property here.
5. If you are flying in rather than driving, skip the package entirely and price a private transfer — book an airport transfer with a fixed fare and stay wherever you actually want to stay.

How much is parking at the Port of Miami?

It depends on your terminal, because PortMiami publishes different rates by garage. As read in September 2026, long-term parking at Garages C, D, F, G and Surface Lot E is priced per vehicle per space per day, or fraction of a day, at twenty-five dollars, while Garage AA and Garage B are published at thirty-five dollars a day. Oversized vehicles use Surface Lot E at twenty-five dollars a space, or fifty if two spaces are needed.

Is it cheaper to park at a hotel or at the cruise port in Miami?

Usually the hotel, but only if you would have wanted the room anyway and the allowance covers your whole sailing. Two Hampton properties near the port publish seven days of parking inside a package, which beats seven days at any port garage rate — but both bill extra days beyond the allowance, and neither publishes that overage rate. For a sailing longer than a week, get the per-day number in writing before you book.

Do Miami hotels have free shuttles to the cruise port?

Some publish a free outbound shuttle and charge for the return, which is the most common shape. Comfort Suites Miami Airport North states that the ride to the port is complimentary for all guests while the return is chargeable per adult and per child, arranged at the hotel before you sail. Sonesta Miami Airport charges per person in both directions but publishes fixed pickup times.

Can you leave your car at the Port of Miami during a cruise?

Yes. The port operates multi-level garages at every cruise terminal plus a surface lot for oversized vehicles, all patrolled by security, with a complimentary shuttle running only on cruise days. Payment is taken in cash or by major credit card or US traveller's cheque, and the port states that debit cards are not accepted. Lose your ticket and the charge is billed as an eleven-day cruise up to a published maximum.

How early should you arrive the day before a Miami cruise?

Early enough to sign up for the shuttle, because seats are allocated rather than guaranteed. Comfort Suites states that earlier shuttle times are first-come, first-served and are booked at the front desk on arrival, and Sonesta asks guests to be in the lobby fifteen minutes before a published pickup. If your sailing has a boarding window you care about, confirm the shuttle time before you confirm the room.
